Delicious, Scotts Square
delicious_pageE&O Group’s homegrown bistro Delicious makes its Singapore debut after seven successful outlets in Malaysia. Its winning formula of shabby chic interiors, outstanding fusion and Malaysian favourites (think: nasi kerabu), and cost-conscious prices is calculated to make a convert of shoppers and students.

Wholesome and very well-received dishes include duck confit spaghettini; Thai mango and arugula salad with medium-rare pan-seared steak slices; and masala lambshank – a hearty hybrid of kandar and korma which combines all the best of Malaysia’s flavours on a plate. As for the iconic nasi kerabu – the combination here would satisfy even the largest appetites. A heaping cone of rice alongside fresh-cut green herbs (from which the rice gets its name), salted egg and a large leg of chicken rendang is cooked to authentic recipes.

New creations exclusive here include a Chicago deep dish pizza pie, and tikka mascarpone linguine that thrilled with lightly grilled chicken breast in a creamy, fragrant sauce. Why mascarpone? Because paneer was too thin, and cream turned the dish into a carbonara – that’s how seriously they take their R&D.

Desserts sealed the deal with our new Malaysian crush – macadamia cheesecake with a crackly brittle, sticky date pudding with a real hit of date, and the Berrilicious chocolate pavlova could not have been executed any better. Even if stopping by just for coffee and cake, the portions are simply satisfying. Keeping true to their roots, all the cuisine is pork-free, though they do serve a small range of alcohol. #B1-16/19 Scotts Square, 6 Scotts Road.
