Chinese New Year at Halia
cny-halia_pageSit amongst the lush greenery of the Botanic Gardens and indulge in a Chinese New Year celebratory dinner at Halia, with their special Chinese-inspired dishes curated into an auspicious set menu.

Start with appetisers of ‘prosperity’ – carpaccio of ocean trout, carrot, golden sultanas, Chinese leek with pomelo and pamplemousse, black moss, glass noodles. Black and white sesame seeds and green lime juice together with orange plum sauce; and ‘gold’, which features foie gras, seaweed, miso and spring roll with piquillos sauce.

The choice of two main courses include ‘abundance’- kurobota pork toro, yuzu and kumquat sweet sour sauce with a fricassee of carrots, white asparagus, prosciutto and chives; and ‘dragon’, a half lobster, angel hair pasta with XO lobster bisque and abalone garnish.

Dessert is a choice of ‘happiness’, a chocolate mousse, orange sesame tuile paired with Szechuan pepper ice cream or ‘fortune’, an orange tiramisu with triple sec orange liquor gelee, pistachio nougat and orange meringue.

The three course meal also comes with a wine pairing choice, featuring Brown Brothers wines exclusive to Halia, such as the 2008 Brown Brothers Limited Release Riesling, the 2010 Brown Bothers Couchen Sauvignon Blanc Whitlands Victoria, 2009 Brown Bothers Milawa Vineyard Tempranillo and the 2006 Brown Brothers Patricia Late Harvest Noble Riesling

The three course menu ranges from $168++ for the lobster main course and $128++ for the kurobuta pork. For the wine pairing option of three glasses, add $40.
